At Thermo Plastics, we feel that it is our responsibility to improve the communities within which we operate. With these philosophies in mind, we carry out several initiatives and activities across our office throughout the year.

Our commitment to responsible manufacturing does not stop there. As the one of the leading poly bag manufactures in Sri Lanka we have pioneered the green movement within the industry.

Minimizing energy consumption and wastage by installation of:

  • Solar panels
  • LED lighting systems
  • Solar powered street lights
  • Inverter type air conditioner units

Minimizing water consumption by:

  • Harvesting rainwater to be used for watering grass and plants
  • Installing push-start and sensor taps in washrooms and cafeterias

Minimizing waste by:

  • Composting
  • Recycling

In this context we have been registered with Sedex , As the largest collaborative platform for sharing ethical supply chain data, Sedex is an innovative and effective supply chain management solution, helping reduce risk, protect company reputation and improve supply chain practices.

Built on a strong foundation of ethics, values, best practices and principles, it works on the ideal of the Japanese 5S system, ISO certification standards and remain continuously committed to a sound environmental approach in the sourcing, manufacture and disposal of its products. All raw materials used in its products comply with standards set by systems on waste control and collection conforms to EU regulations vis-a-vis being free of azo dyes and heavy metals and the regulations stipulated by the Central Environment Authority of Sri Lanka.
